Battery it recognised by inverter

Hi Mike here, new to this forum, have an AC3.0 inverter with a Gen 2 battery as Master and Gen 1 as slave, all was working well until I changed the router, the system was eventually connected to the new router and all seemed fine but I noticed that the slave battery stopped charging, it discharged until the point of empty and the LED then showed red and then switched off, I can now do nothing with it, no LED’s and no indication in the app or portal. I have tried resetting the system but no change. I would be great full if anyone has any ideas……inverter software has been up dated and GE are not responding, installer seems unwilling to help……

This sounds odd and changing the WiFi won’t affect the batteries so the problem needs breaking down. So a) what did you do to swap over the router? And b) when you say the appeared to be working, what tests did you do?

If you post your message on the other Givenergy Forum, there are quite a number of really knowledgeable people that will try and help you over there.

Alternatively See this thread for paid for support.

Hi there, I changed to router as I was changing ISP, so after the change the system was reconnected to the WiFi and I checked my timed charge and discharge was still in place and working by monitoring it at the appropriate times but noticed that the app now only showed 1 batttery not 2, the slave had disappeared, it remained powered on and discharged with the green LED’s on until it got low, then the RED LED lit up and it eventually turned off, since then I have not been able to switch it on, press and hold the button for 10 seconds absolutely nothing happens. Only the master battery shows up in the app.

I have had exactly the same problem. Predsupport are very helpful, but for me it’s still a work in progress. I’m not sure if it can be fixed remotely through software, or whether the battery that keeps failing to start needs a hardware repair. Of course had Givenergy not gone bust, such issues would be dealt with either through a warranty return & replace of a repair by them, but as things stand, we are all thrashing around to find someone local who knows how to fix these things. Do contact Predsupport: they might be able to login remotely and effect some sort of fix, depending on what’s wrong…….

Hi Harry 1 here,

I had the red light issue on my AC3.0 / Gen 3 battery, when a connection to the mains monitoring meter became loose due to a faulty crimp. I tried all sorts of things but in the end I had to get GivEnergy to reset the battery from their end. Frustratingly it took serveral phone calls, emails and 2 months wait.

I then set the low level cut out at 6% rather than 4% so that It should not go that low again.

The good news is that it doesent sound like a hardware issue as it can be reset remotely via software.

I guess the new software guys can do this

Regards

Harry
