ID3 Meter/CT issue string 2 is not recognised

Hi all, looking for some help if possible before i spend some money on a new ID3.

i have ID import/export, ID2 and ID3 all been working fine for 3 years, the ID3 meter is not being recognised by the coupled inverter.

ID3 is reading the correct amount of export coming from string 2.
ID2 is reading the correct amount of export coming from string 1.
ID1 is reading the correct amount of export combining ID2 & 3.
the meters are wired in the correct sequence.

i have tried a new twisted pair cable connection to no avail, i have tested the old twisted pairs from the old cable, all are fine but nothing shows up for IPV2, the app does not see both strings export combined nor does the online dashboard but the ID3 seems to be working fine from its display.

i have re-calibrated the system

any other suggestions i can try before i purchase a new ID3 to see if it is this causing the issue.

many thanks for any help.

Hi - I had a similiar issue with my energy monitor. Changed the cable from a twisted pair to a cat 5, its been working ok ever since.

hi Harry1,

thank you for the reply.

i have checked the wiring, i do use a cat6 cable. i have installed a new gem120 meter, set it to id3 and still no joy. i have moved the new id3 meter to the id2 CU and used a new 2ft cat6 cable, deleted the commission and re-commissioned and it will not pick up the new id3 meter. it sees it but does not report back any imported power so throws a fault up.

i can only presume it is the ac inverter not picking the id3 readings up.

Harry here - I had a similar problem with screened twisted pair cable.

Changed the cable to Cat 6 using just one pair for the signal between the ID1 and the Inverter - Worked straight away. told by other installers that twisted pair screened analogue cable does not work.

Regards

Harry
