I have an inverter (5k) which transmits a wifi signal but several installers have failed to connect it to the GivEnergy app. Fault is 6 months old but the system appears to work but I have no control over it not can I see any data. tried an ethernet connection without success.
I would like the inverter to be repaired or replaced.
Is either possible and can the new inverter (if bought) be commissioned?
My batteries do charge at night and discharge appropriately as far as I can tell.
Solutions anybody?
Thanks
Mike
What inverter is it? Gen1 is wifi dongle only. I have seen on other posts that later Gen inverters have a LAN port but it was not wired correctly in the factory and that if you open the inverter there is a flying lead inside with a LAN port that does work. If the dongle is not working, you can buy a new one for about £4o
Thanks for your comments. It is a gen 3 hybrid inverter thus no dongle. I have had two 'installers ’ out, both completely failed to link the inverter to the app. Cat 6 cable connected (in case wifi signal from inverter is the problem) but no luck. One PV terminal burned which indicated a problem with the inverter but no solution since no one appears to be able either repair or replace the inverter + commissioning it.
