Where can I find charge mode for the battery settings?
What type of charge, force charge, timed charge or pause charge?

Yes, the new GivEnergy app has definitely made the settings a bit more complicated than they used to be!
If what you’re wanting to do is stop the battery voluntarily charging from the grid, but still allow it to operate normally with your solar and supply the house, you don’t want to use the Battery Pause option, as that pauses the battery operation altogether.
Have a look within the battery settings for the Charge Mode. This should give you the choice between:
- Solar – battery will charge from available solar but won’t deliberately charge from the grid.
- Solar + Grid – allows the battery to charge from the grid as well as solar, normally in conjunction with a timed charging schedule.
Set this to Solar if you don’t want it charging from the grid.
Also check that you haven’t got a Timed Charge / scheduled charge period enabled, as this is specifically designed to force-charge the battery from the grid during the times you’ve selected.
Once you’ve changed those settings, put the battery back into its normal Play / operating mode rather than Pause.
If you want, send me a screenshot of the options you’re seeing in the new app and I’ll point you to exactly which ones to select. They’ve added quite a few more options now, so I can understand why it’s not immediately obvious!
