My parents have a Give-AC3.0 and a GIV-BAT-9.5-G3, it has a little white wifi dongle protruding from the underside. The unit is in the garage and the wifi is poor, they had an electrician around who advised them that they could resolve the frequent disconnects and long periods of offline by hard wiring.
They asked me to run network cables to the garage which I have done, however now when I have looked into how to connect the unit to the network I can’t find any suitable ports, brief research suggest that this unit doesn’t support anything other than Wifi, can this really be true in this day and age?
AC3 is an old product now, although still could have had wired connection if someone had thought about it, it’s not like ethernet is new! Maybe the trend was just use WiFi for everything.
Best bet now is get an access point that can plug into that network cable, set up a 2.x GHz WiFi network on the AP and tell the givEnergy inverter to use that new network. Being closer and 2.x only hopefully more reliable.
