Hi, we have a 3 phase stackable battery with 13kwh battery and an 11kw inverter. We have had a few power outages and we have a manual changeover switch installed. It doesn’t work very well. We had a power cut today. We did get our lights working and the toaster but when I switched on my lan switch it tripped out the supply. It can’t be overload as it was just one lan switch and a few lights, the inverter is 11kw. I have tried to raise this with my installer but he just isn’t getting back to me and I don’t seem to be having any luck with Giv directly either. Any ideas on what could be causing this behaviour?
Do you have any diagrams of how the ATS was wired?
Is it whole home backup on this ATS?
Hi it is a whole house EPS but I can only assume how it was wired. My assumption is it is wired as option 3 in the manual. It has never worked well and during the power cuts we have had it seems almost random as to which circuit will make it trip out, often with just a very small load on it which is no where near the limit we have for the battery output. Sometimes we can get things like the hob to work and then other times a simple network switch will cause it to trip. when I say trip I mean the battery is powering the lights and then you switch on a plug circuit, which just has say a phone charger switched on and all the power is then cut. it comes back 30 seconds later.
We have the same system with manual switch (actually quite a manual procedure to cut over)
It is critical to keep any phase below 3kw or the whole lot resets. I’ve got a energy monitor on the main house circuit & find that even a kettle + the background load is enough to trip it.
We’ve learnt to live with this - (we get powercuts) but the worst thing is that after a random amount of time (1 -5 hours the battery alarms & the whole lot shuts down. Have tried various combinations of battery state / solar on/off to diagnose but no joy. I
Anyone else see similar?

3phase 11kw + 20kwh stackable battery.
Hi, that’s interesting, so even though you have a 11kw inverter there is a 3kw limit per phase for the backup? I wonder if we are suffering from that?
yep, I guess it is just 3 single phase 3.68kw inverters in one box.
are you having any of the battery alarm issues i mentioned?
Chris
Hi Chris, no everything else aside from the eps is working fine. We discharge to 4% each night and recharge to 100% and it’s all good.
