Most days. Our import from grid is around 0.1kw. But when we run the 3D printer it usually hits around 1kw. But it’s only the 3D printer which causes this. Just a curiosity

Just put a smart givenenergy plug on the printer and see what the printer uses
Or a kasa plug

Is it because the 3D printer doesn’t constantly draw power? Is it a bit on off on off on off?
It takes a few seconds for the inverter to realise power is needed and then all of a sudden it isn’t again. And repeat.
One trick could be to setup a timed export (and a discharge rate of say 1kW) whilst running the printer - so you end up powering the printer from battery and exporting a bit to the grid, rather than importing. A little bit of a faff but possible.
