AIO tripping

Hi
Hoping someone can help?
We’ve been finding that the AIO trips when there’s a power outage but last night we had two power outages that lasted about 2 minutes each but none of our neighbours had any problems.
The AIO had tripped on both occasions. We’ve set the system to export between 9pm and 10pm which is when the outages took place. We’re now wondering if it’s the AIO that’s tripping the grid power to the house and not the other way round.
Anyone any ideas please?

What tripped, can you show a picture of the item.

Also can you update its firmware, its a few months out of date

Hi yah, and welcome to the community.

Your issue does not sound good and could be any number of things. As an AIO should not trip the house load from the grid.

Do you also have a Gateway?
If yes I would go to the GE Cloud AIO settings and ensure EPS mode is enabled.

I would say change the discharge time to another time say 18:00 and see if it still does it. If it does then I would recommend getting your installer back and demonstrate to them by doing a discharge while there there.

I don’t think anyone on here can fix an electrical issue, we can help with questions on Setting things up software wise or how to operate the AIO via the app or Cloud etc. I am sorry I can not be of any more help than this.

Good luck with your installer.

Hi
Thank you for responding.

Picture of the breaker that tripped.
I’ll check the software version.
Thanks

ok, so not the GW itself.

There will be excess earth leakage, tripping the RCD.

Your installer could look to swap this for a 100mA

Hi
Many thanks. I’ll get onto the installers.

I had the same problem. Getting the installer to upgrade to 100mA was expensive and didn’t work. In the end thr installer was on a call with Giv for an hour tweaking some of the internal settings. The conclusion was that the solar inverter (Solis) can trip the AIO if it has not synchronised with the main power. The best we got to is that when main power comes back on there is about a 30s delay before house power comes back on. This gives solar the chance to stop completely before switching back to mains power.

Hi
Thanks for the information.
Can I ask when the power goes off for 30seconds does the AIO still trip?

When the main power goes off the AIO moves to battery mode. When the main power comes back on the AIO now disconnects for 30s before converting back to mains power. Before the change when the power came on the AIO would trip out.
