Hi -
Does anyone know if the Axle energy VPP will work in the free tier, or the premium tier ?

For Axle to control your inverter they will need the Premium tier to be able to make API calls to your inverter.
Its not clear whether Axle will accept self-control of the export when there is a session on.
OK, thanks Geoffrey.
Well if it costs Ā£5 a month for Premium, and thereās a guaranteed Ā£10 a month min payment coming from Axle then that sways it for me.
Dave.
It helps to offset it, but you are still paying £5 per month for Premium.
Iāll find out in the next couple of days.
#inverters offline.
Yes. I have just received confirmation from Axle that the exact amount I was expecting has been credited to my account. Inverters were blocked from Internet access. I was in total control of export via HA automation.
So just to clarify, you manually enabled the export yourself, using HA, at the same time slot that Axle would have done it normally via the API ? And it worked OK ?
Have I got that right ?
Dave.
Yes, I realise that. But Iād still be Ā£5 a month up on the deal, providing Axle keep up their end of the bargain.
My situation is, the only thing that I really need Premium for, is Axle.
Iām at home a fair bit so the free local app access covers most of my needs, I canāt see there being much use for full access away from home. It would be nice, but its by no means essential.
I really donāt want to go to the hassle of putting together a HA system, and keeping it maintained if I can get away without it.
I do have the Android āInverterā app so do you think I could run the next Axle session using the manual export control from my app, as you appear to have done using your HA system ?
Cheers - Dave.
My point is that you donāt āneedā Premium in order to use Axle. You could be Ā£10 per moth better off rather than Ā£5.
To clarify. I connected my inverters to the portal only for the duration of the Axle on-boarding process, then blocked them.
I used the HA Axle integration to trigger an HA automation which notified me the day before, then took control of the export (and other things) at the appropriate times. Axle have credited the exact amount that I was expecting into my account.
I see no reason why you canāt control the export manually once you have on-boarded.

Looks promising then, Iāll just have to try it on the next grid event & see.
Iāll just have to remember to set it up first then de-set it afterwards.
Dave.
