I have updated to new software this week and now my inverter ignores my charge limit set at 30% it now charges to 100% every night . Nothing has changed apart from update I have enabled it and unable it just in case it needed to be done after update but again this morning I’m at 100% ? Any ideas there are no other time slots for charging and I have checked all other settings
Set it to something else like 40% make sure it’s saved, then change it back to 30%
Hi yes I tried that it has been set at 30% as it’s been nice for past couple of weeks did the update on Tuesday then charged to 100% so I changed it to 34% and charged to 100% weird as there are no other setting apart from charge time which works fine
Tried resetting to defaults?
Have a look at Remote Control in the portal (the cog symbol). Under ‘Enable/Disable’ you’ll see a setting to ‘Enable AC Charge Upper % Limit’ - I’m guessing that’s turned off.
But the upper limit was set to 100%
(You need to enable the limit, and also set ‘AC Charge Upper % Limit’ to a lower target)
Here’s mine for today
Ok I’ve changed that I was setting
it on the app as that’s how I was controlling it before the update and It worked ?
Yes, the firmware engineers aren’t making this stuff easy, are they?! There are now multiple registers that control the same thing, and it’s not always obvious which ones take precedence. Maybe this is a bug in the app. I don’t use the app for much (apart from the occasional pause), so not sure about interactions between portal and app. You could try changing the app setting, then logging into the portal to see what changes (or use givtcp). But if you have those two settings configured on the portal, I’m confident it will work now.
Thank you Erby07 for raising this topic…
…it has certainly made me hesitate in hitting the ‘update firmware’ button until you manage to resolve this.
I must admit that I cannot help - it seems like you have tried the sensible things.
…what does the GivEnergy Support desk say about this?
…can you request a roll back of the firmware version?
It is frustrating that there is no documentation for the scheduling features - your tussle here reminds me of my first week or two with the system trying to work it out without documentation.
Any comment from GivEnergy on why no documentation? Could we have:
-a description of each field?
-some worked examples of how to schedule for common tariffs?
Erby07: please keep us all updated
again thank you
Dave
Hi all so weirdly after help from you guys I changed the percentage in the portal rather than the app which worked and just for giggles I changed it a few days later on the app and it worked so I guess it was locked some how ? So app and portal now working
Cheers all Darren
