Battery charging without schedule

I wanted to get some advise.
I have a Givenergy 5KwH inverted and 2 X 5.2KwH batteries.
I am only a tariff which allows me to get cheap rate charging between 12:30am and 05:30am. I have set up a schedule to charge the batteries during this time. I currently have system set up in Eco mode with DC Discharge Enabled Off and AC Charge Enabled on.
The only other schedule set up is to export the batteries to 20% between 20:30pm and 22:30pm if they hold more than 20%. This is not enabled in last few days but is available to select if needed - it has been used a lot during recent sunny spell.
Since the change of the clocks I have noticed that about 20:30pm at night my batteries (which have been depleted throughout the day to about 6% to 7%) start charging at 291w for 2 hours stopping at 22:30pm. I have not set a schedule to do this.I assumed that the batteries would just sit at low charge and the grid would go only to house live requirements.
I have not be able to assess if this charging schedule would still happen if the batteries had more charge left.
I would like to know:

  1. is it normal for the batteries to charge without a schedule if they are deemed to have too low (I had thought my reserve was 4%)
  2. if it is not the case why has this schedule started - it seems a coincidence it matches the times of my existing “exporting” schedule
  3. If is shouldn’t happen what is the best steps to resolve
  4. are my eco, ac and dc settings correct? I seem to have to set them up like this to ensure the system charges and discharges through the day as required
I have left a message for technicians to call back back still waiting for a response since Monday.
  1. if the batteries think they are too low on charge then they can charge without a schedule. Whilst the reserve is 4% I have seen my own stop discharging at 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6% so I wouldn’t worry too much about the actual stop level. Still, the charge when empty should be an exception rather than something that happens every night
  2. Seems weird. I’d suggest setting your exporting schedule to 00:00-00:00 to completely cancel it, and see if that stops the errant charging
  3. see 2
  4. Your settings are fine. GivEnergy support are very overloaded - see other messages on here - you could be waiting a little while for a response

Thank you so much for taking the time to respond. This has been really helpful.
