Battery discharge due to Battery SOC Calibration

Hi GivEnergy Community

I wonder if you could maybe enlighten me as to why my battery suddenly discharged please early this morning. In my Inverter remote control history there seems to have been a message from ‘server’ to discharge for Battery SOC Calibration. That caused the battery to discharge completely. (losing about 80% charge). Once complete it started to recharge, which on my Octopus Cosy tarriff is now happening during the more expensive period.

I am using WonderWatt to control my battery charging for the Cosy tarriff and had one set between 4-6am which seemed to start after the calibration.

I completely understand the need for resets etc but would be good to know if this is normal because after 1.5 years with the system I have not seen this before, and could it indicate a fault?

Many thanks

Andy

It could be a misunderstood command - if two things happen at the same time, sometimes commands can get mangled.

It could be your installer starting it

It could be wonder watt starting it (accidentally I guess).

May be best to ask wonder watt first.

Then if you have any other automations or third party services, look there (e.g. home assistant, octopus r&d labs, smart tariffs, etc)

Then finally ask GivEnergy support.
