The problem is that there appears to be a bug in battery firmware 3012 that lets the batteries discharge at 4kW instead of the configured maximum: 3600. This is ok in short bursts, but if it goes on for an hour or so, the breaker trips.
Do I have to update the firmware without GE support and potentially introducing new issues, or is there another way to fix this…

Hi there. My Gen3 5kW with 9.5kW battery also discharges at 4kW. If you go onto the GivEnergy app, then select the hamburger icon (top left), select Direct Control, then scroll down until you see the Battery Discharge Rate. You can reduce the rate by reducing the value here. Mine usually displays 50, by setting it to 38 it reduces the discharge to 3.6kW.
Thanks NormC; I couldn’t find a discharge rate setting, but I’ve set discharge power to 3432 and it dropped from 4017 to 3518. It looks like that will do the trick, and save me a risky update! Cheers
