Hi,

Quick question Questions…
Not had to complete a Battery or Inverter update but noticed the battery firmware updare button appeared.
Generally firmware updates are needed so needs to be done.

Getting the best time

What are the gotchas here?

Battery calibration? will the battery discarge to 0% and charge?
Assume the inverter will be offline so running from grid
Any Known issues
Possiblity of failure

I would assume that the best time to do this is when the battery is almost empty and able to import from the grid off peak?

Yes, your assumptions are spot on. Though a calibration is not always required, for my AC3, if using the portal I would do mine some time after 11pm. It takes a few minutes to apply the upgrade and discharge (time depends on state of charge when you start), so by the time it starts charging it should be 11:30 and off-peak prices (I’m on IOG). BTW it’s worth monitoring that it applies the firmware OK - sometimes you need more than one attempt.

Thank you for the advice would be useful if there were release notes stating what’s fixed and what will happens or not happening during the upgrade.

I am waiting for an opportunity to sit with the upgrade.

I have a midnight to 0700 cheap rate window, I will kick off at just after midnight complete the upgrade then a calibration can start if needed in that window.

If the battery is offline during the upgrade which I suspect is the case its better to complete during the cheap rate window so incurring no additional costs.
