Cannot reconnect dongle to wifi. Offline for a month

As per the title: my inverter went offline 28 days ago (according to the app), Since then I have tried literally dozens of times to reconnect using all the videos and instructions I can find. It has happened in the past (installation was February 2022) but it has always been possible to reconnect after a while.

Details:

  • Check there is a wifi network available (I even set up a specific 2.4GHZ network, even though the 2.4/5GHZ one worked fine before)
  • Shut down the system and restart
  • Press and hold the dongle button for 15 seconds, check the dongle serial number appears in available wifi networks
  • Go through the process:
    • Select ‘Update Wifi details’
    • I click ‘Connect’ at the dialog ‘Connect to device’
    • get message ‘connecting to deive’
    • get message ‘connected’
    • get message ‘Couldn’t connect. Check your network connection and try again’ (even though just before it said it was connected???)

This seems to happen every time.

One time I thought maybe the firmware needs updating, so I went through the process to do that and it seemed to work i.e. it connected to the wifi… In this case the process was:

  • select Update Dongle and click ‘Connect’
  • get message ‘uploading’
  • finish that and it goes to Update Wifi details and get the same results as above.

One time I got a message saying ‘No dongle wi-fi type’???
I’m now well pissed off… can anyone provide any hope for me?

Thanks in advance

Hi - I’ve had the same thing this weekend. I’ve followed all the various instructions as well but the dongle will not connect and the inverter is still showing as ‘Lost’ and well and truly offline.
Have you found a fix? I’d be grateful for any further experience you’ve had with this.
My next step is to buy a new Dongle - in case the existing one is duff in some way. No idea whether that will work but I’ve run out of ideas.
Thanks

Hi - yesterday I finally did manage to reconnect (after about 2 months). I found a few recommended steps via Google to connect directly to the dongle by typing the access code in the browser. Look here for more info, and good luck (it took me a couple of tries)

Notes:
• I did do the reset of the dongle (press the button for 15 seconds)
• I found another site that recommended switching off Auto-connect on your normal wifi network, to avoid it switching back during the dongle update process
• I also followed advice when connecting to the dongle wifi and set it to Auto-reconnect

Very pleased you’ve managed to reconnect - well done!
I’ll have another go using your tips.
Thanks
