I changed my WiFi at home so need to update this dongle so it communicates on my home network. I didn’t have the password the installer setup or forgotten if he told me but I’ve reset it and can connect to the dongle network. When I try to connect to the gateway (10.10.100.254) to configure it though I cannot get anything to load.
Tried using my phone and laptop. I cannot find any other troubleshooting steps to get his working.
You could change the name (aka SSID) and password of your new broadband router to the one for the old - then everything in the house should connect without further action.
Alternatively look on GivEnergy’s KB site - Google GivEnergy KB dongle should find what you need.
Have you connected to the wifi network that the inverter broadcasts, before trying to connect to http://10.10.100.254/ ?

Almost certainly essential to turn off 5 GHz radio while trying to connect. Older devices do not like one SSID with two frequencies. Remember to re enable afterwards
