Change of car makes All in one system fail to export or charge correctly!

My system was working as expected until recently, I had it set to export to grid at peak times, and during winter charge at cheap rate overnight or from solar in spring onwards. Generally I charge the car from solar during the afternoon or at cheap rate overnight in winter.

Last week, I changed vehicle to an MG-motors HS PHEV. Since doing so, the all in one fails to charge - all solar generation goes straight to the grid and any timed export fails. The charge and discharge rates kept resetting to zero - but here’s the catch - only when the car is plugged into the Givenergy EV charger.

Unplug the car, all works ok. No issues with my old Ford Kuga PHEV, just when the new MG
plugged in.

I found a workaround I think, change the EV charger from “Inverter Control” to “CT Meter” and it all works ok again on initial testing.

Not sure what I lose in functionality by doing this though, so far seems to do what I want ok but early days.

I did ring support, also sent them a couple of emails with loads of screenshots. Rang the support line again today with my new findings above, almost 1hr on the phone explaining again (felt like starting from scratch as you get a different person) before I was put on hold then cut off. Rang again, waited in the queue, happened to be answered by same engineer who says he is escalating it - time will tell.

My experience of Givenergy support is not the best, the hardware I like but only if you don’t need after sales support! My system is less than 12months old.

This is what I have my EVC on, if it works then leave it on this setting :+1:
