When I set a reduced battery charge and discharge rate they revert back almost straight away. When I check the logs the command is coming from the EVC.

Yes it does that, If you change your EVC Configuration to none Cloud Option A, such as Standalone Charger, then the cloud server cannot interfere with your settings. That is the new recommended Givenergy Software Configurations anyway if you don’t intend to pay for the premium software monthly option. I got rid of my GE EV charger as it wasn’t IOG certified despite GE saying it would be, but not everyone can do that.
