I have a GE 8.2 battery (generation 3), installed in 2024. It started to develop a fault a few months back and my installer came to inspect and found that the circuit board had burnt out (in the top left).
Can I replace this circuit board (bearing in mind GivEnergy’s status)?
Is this something I can do?
I have personally used www.greasley.co.uk to repair my Air Con PCB. I am happy with them. Very professional company. You may want to give them a call. They may be able to repair it.
Is that board burnt out or is it water damaged? It does not look like there are any active components on the board. You might get away with giving the board a good clean up and replacing the flash drive yourself.
Willy - my installer said that it was burnt, as there was heat damage behind on the battery cells. This all happened just days before GE went bust, so no luck with them.

Rust on the screws and stains on the (replaceable) flash drive suggest a bit of water ingress. Maybe your installer didn’t fully tighten the front plate against the seal last time he was in there? Just a thought.
