Why does GivEnergy avoid and talk about compensation when the installation has failed.
More data needed.
If the âinstallationâ has failed, itâs down to the installer.
If the inverter or battery has failed, itâs still down to the installer , but they can make a claim against GivEnergy.
If itâs poor service, theyâve been going through a torrid/horrific time internally since Autumn last year and I donât know if theyâre out of it yet.
In my view itâs not down to the installer. They did a great professional job. Also my installer has pulled away from GivEnergy. This was down to equipment battery failure due to firmware failure. The system failed in Jan 25 and I finally got it sorted in Jul 25. Thatâs 6 months of no solar power. Under the consumer act and warrentee i want recompense for down time.
I am not sure you can get much (any) compensation for something that you might (or might not have received). What if the summer was really cloudy and you were using lots of electricity to wash dishes. They might give you some sort of âgratuityâ payment, but I doubt they will want to set a precedent
Your contract is with the installer not givenergy so any claim and recompense (such as under the consumer credit act or sale of goods - â not of satisfactory qualityâ) could ony come from them. Whether they could get that paid back to them by givenergy is for the installer to resolve.
Good to hear it is resolved now
Youâre wasting your time. Mine blew up a week after installation took 2 weeks for them to change it.
Had to ring loadsa times since but that was when someone answered the phone.
Yes your contract is with the installer, so they are responsible for fixing it. Take out a county court action, under the sale of goods act. If we all did this ,sales of GivEnergy would plummet, it would hit them in the pocket and thatâs were itâll hurt them as much as their systems hurt us. Fix the Wi-Fi GivEnergy,itâs crap, why do you spend so much time and effort trying to sort out Wi-Fi problems, get some experts in. Answer the phones get more staff.
I would have told the installer to get it out
