In a single setup the gateway is passive but in dual and tripple setup shoulsnt the gateway now take over the charge and discharge settings ?

I don’t understand your question, because you’ve already answered it. The gateway takes over…
On the app, the charge/discharge settings are now linked to the gateway, which in turn will “pass on the message” to the AIOs.
On the portal, all of these options are now only visible against the Gateway under My Inverters…the AIOs are now restricted to Display Only for some of their stats but no control options.
