Energy graph information wrong after inverter replacement

Has anyone else experienced issues with the energy graph values in the GivEnergy app after having a replacement inverter fitted?

Due to condensation within the inverter our dongle and inverter USB socket failed back in September so GivEnergy replaced the inverter last week. Ever since the energy graphs have been displaying strange behaviours:

  • For the first few days after installation, data would stop part way through the day.
  • Data would look ok during the current day, but then when the day is complete the graph will display negative values for some measures and some unrealistic values (1567.18kWh total grid export for the day, for example!)
  • If I go back to the data from the previous inverter that all looks normal.

If I connect direct to the inverter using a simpler different app then all the data looks ok, so my guess it’s something to do with the cloud data getting a bit confused after the 3 month or so gap in receiving data and/or the inverter swap. Is there any way to clear/reset the cloud data?

Our inverter is a GIV-AC3.0 running firmware D0.207-A0.207

Could be a poor internet connection?

Might be worth looking at where your router / access point is vs. the inverter.

Maybe setup a 2Ghz access point near the inverter and connect the inverter to that.

You could consider powerlines (TP link are well recommended I think) if you need to get the access point in without running a long ethernet cable across a house/garage etc.

As for clearing the data down, I’m not sure. Might be worth raising a ticket with GivEnergy support, but I have a feeling they can’t do it.

Thanks for your suggestion, however the connection’s fine as have a mesh router setup with a satellite just the other side of the wall our inverter is mounted on. The current data and the data in the web portal is all fine, it’s just the historical data in the energy graph section of the mobile app that’s gone weird ever since the inverter was replaced.

Will raise a query with GivEnergy to see if they can suggest anything.
