EV Charger DNO Setting

Hi All,
I have a Givenergy EV charger installed, with CT meter arrangment and hardwired LAN.
In the portal the DNO Fuse Size allows you to set the maximum import capacity of the charger’s main supply in amps.
My understanding is that this limits the power the EV charger ouputs if it reaches this setpoint.
I have notice this does not appear to be working and limting the power , has anyone else experienced this.?
The charger is currently running Firmware Version: AC_GL1_1.12.
Any help much appreciated.
Thanks,
Keith

Hi Keith

The CT will instruct the EVC to back off if the TOTAL grid exceeds the set value.

You can use this on all your items and set 1A difference, thus creating a priority system.

I have 73A on my EVC
74A on my AC Coupled
75A on my AIO

So the EVC always backs down 1st, if it cant back off far enough, the AC coupled back off next and so on.

thus never exceeding 75A

In reality the actual value is around 2A under the set value, allowing for some leeway

Hi

Thanks for your response.
Your explanation is exactly how I expected it to work.
However what I am witnessing is with this set to 70amps the EV charger does not throttle back as expected and I have seen system consuming 75amps without EV curtailing. (Still pulling full 7kw)
Which is why I don’t believe mine is actually working as supposedly intended.
My question would be if anyone else has experienced this or if there is a firmware issue, etc.

Thanks
Keith

ok, ive updated, can you test again?

I use this feature every night and it works as intended

Hi

Yes I see that firmware is now 1.14.
Thanks for updating, I’m at work now. I willl try this again tonight when charging and report back if this has resolved the issue.

Thanks,
Keith

Hi,

The firmeare upgrade to 1.14 seems to have done the trick.

Operated as expected last night and trottled back the EV charger when it exceeded the DNO current setting of the charger.

Much appreaciatef for the assistance.

Also, you mention you use this on your other devices also, where is this setting for the AIO. I can’t see anywhere in the portal?

Thanks,
Keith
