Hi all.
Where or how do I find the Giv EV chargers MAC address, can’t see that info on the portal and the little label on the charger has long since disintigrated in the sunlight!
It is not easy to find on the network (100’s of devices) and it doesn;t seem to have the same starting digits as the AIO and Gateway MAC’s. Any idea?
The starting characters of a MAC address is often the one assigned by the maker of the NIC chip. Some can be changed but it is not advised. As for finding the Charger MAC address, it may be in your network assigned DHCP address range. I’d take a list of the devices on the network with the charger offline, then connect it and see the difference in the list. Back in the day of Ethernet that used thick cables that you had to tap into properly with a drill (shows my age) most devices of that age would have their MAC address on the device itself. Since we went to CAT-4 wiring and above, that standard seems to have gone away.
Indeed, I’ve been networking since the days of ‘yellow string’.
I had hoped they used the same NIC manufacturer so the MAC would be easy to spot on the network list (the AIO and Gatway start 40:2A:BF: etc.) but I assume the EC charger is a different manufacturer, anyone confirm what the first 3 sets of digits are on their Giv EV charger? As I said, the label with that info lasted about 3 weeks before the sunlight destroyed it. Is there another Mac label inside the unit? If it wasn’t such a big network I’d turn off everything else and see what is left on the network but not practical when I would hope the MAC/IP info would be visible in the portal ast the very least. Anyone???
The vendor code on mine is 94:c9:60 if that helps narrow it down

The prefix on mine is 04:35:32 and it has a default hostname of lwip.
Mine was the 94:C9:60 and thankfully the only one on the network. Saved a lot of time.
