EVC change of ownership

I’ve been having a play with my newly acquired EVC, it’s not fitted but I have it powered just to get it online, I can get on local control via GIV-OCPP / homeassitant.

I can’t add it to Givenergy though, the app just goes in a circle from the QR > processing > QR > processing.

I’ve been back into the web GUI, changed the server back to givenergy, had it wired directly to the inverter using the dedicated comms.

Final shot was trying to use the cloud dashboard, this is where I found the issue…the charger is registered to another account..

I’ve sent an email to support and had an automated reply, what’s the chances of it being answered?

It’s not the end of the world if they don’t reply, it’s just going to be a bit more work moving the Inverter CT closer to the consumer unit so it cannot see the EV load when it gets fitted and I’ll just run the EVC from home assistant

Scrap that they aren’t the brightest :joy:!

Go onto the cloud and try to add a charger, alter the serial number until you find 1 that it will accept, take note of the number.
Factory reset the EVC, load up the Web GUI , enter WIFI credentials at the top, you’ll then see the serial number box which you can edit , insert your working serial, save and reboot and then just add it manually through the app using that serial number but old wifi and password

What the app doesn’t tell you is you have to subscribe for any setting other that standalone.

GIVEVC-OCPP via homeassistant it is then for my setup.

Useful info for anyone else that buys a locked charger though and just wants to use it standalone
