Ironically, my Ubiquiti setup was the sole reason I was able to diagnose my connectivity problem precisely, update the wifi configuration to be more suitable for the EVC, and then prove the changes I made were stable..
Since I made the changes (documented on this thread) My EVC connection has been rock solid.

ICMP ping requests to the EVC`s network adapter and the response given back are at the layer 3 network level. The EVC exchanging its data with its remote services (i.e. the givenergy app and the related givenergy services) would be at layer 6.
So speaking purely technically you can have a situation where you can successfully ping the EVC but at the level the EVC/App actually operates at (level 6 and above) the EVC is reporting “offline”.
Unfortunately none of this helps to explain what conditions would be actually have to be present to create that situation in the first place.

@Scoob101, thanks for the extra info! Yeah, I was thinking how I could replicate your setup first before I tweak too much with my network. I do have a spare router in my attic that I can try to set up for the same metrics.
The ubiquiti ecosystem is becoming more and more appealing as I do not have the the freedom I’d like. I’ll update this thread when I have more info
@Scoob101 @TheDragon, it’s been a week now since I connected the EVC to a new WiFi bridge operating ONLY on 2.4GHz 20MHz. It works flawlessly since
Looks like the errors point to 2.4G/5G mixed networks (same SSID) and/or issues with mesh setups.

Yes. Band steering is the likly culprit.

As an update, it seems like the API disconnection is still an issue, even with the LAN being fully sorted out. Something’s wrong in the cloud service
Now I am glad I googled this, I have been running into the same issue with my fathers charger and he is getting quite frustrated.
I have added the system time entity to track when it goes offline.
The EVC is on AC_GL1_1.12, we have been on and off taking to Giv about it since last March too, we’ll have a few weeks of stability and then the charger just goes offline.
This first became apparent when my folks got a Mini Electric, interesting that the Tesla they have seems to have no issues.
GivTCP and the Cloud api’s are out of sync, one says that Plug&Go is on and the other doesn’t, looking at the GivTCP logs it talks about a modbus error.
The EVC has a fixed IP along with the AIO, the AIO runs flawlessly.
