Why does my solar array export to the grid when the battery is low and needs to use the power to charge up. I would assume that as the solar array wakes in the morning it would use the charge to replenish the battery power that was discharged during the night, but it is exporting more to the grid that it is using to charger the battery?.. Hi yah, to be able to help you we will need some more info please?
What system do you have?
What tariff are you on?
What settings in the app have you set?
I have a 9.5 Gen 3 Battery a Gen 3 Hybrid inverter and 9, 450 kWt Panels in series. I am with EDF energy on a Go Electric RV tariff with Peak and off peak rates. I am not aware of any settings in the portal apart from a timed charge between 00:05 to 04:30 off peak time.
Other than that the settings were set by the installer during commissioning.
Hi yah, is Eco mode set to ON please?
The next step would be to remove any charging/discharging setting, to see if your battery charges from Solar?
The next set would be to reset your inverter to factory default and ensure it’s in Eco mode. Then see if it charges from Solar.
Yeh Dave it was. Did a forced discharge to try and get things moving, then played with the quick toggles pausing and restarting the system and it seems to be working again. Keeping an eye on it. Thanks for the interest.
