Hey All,
As per the Topic title my EV charger keeps overriding my AIO 13.5 charging rate.
This is very noisy in a quiet house overnight when charging at 6kwh so i reduce it to 3kwh which is enough to charge in Octopus EV Cheap hours and a lot quieter.
If changed either in the APP or Portal the EV charger overrides it near instant.
Setup:
GivGateway
AIO 13.5
Giv EV Charger
Solar Edge Inverter + Optimizers for all panels.
EV Configuration Currently set to Inverter control.
Any recommendations would be appreciated.
Thanks
Bob
Hi Bob, i have a very similar installation and have experienced the same issue, where the EV charger overrides the AIO charging and discharging rates. Have you managed to figure out the reason?
Hey Tony,
I haven’t got a complete solve yet. Merely a workaround.
It appears when the EV charger configuration is set to inverter control(cloud control) this is what happens.
In the meantime time I have changed the configuration back to standalone.
This has stopped the override. But won’t be desirable as potentially charging an EV will drain the battery as it will just see it as load.
I will be reaching out to givenergy support when I have some time.
Thanks
Bob
Thanks for the fast reply Bob.
I had made the same workaround too, having tried various Solar, Hybrid and Grid settings. Ive set my AIO to charge at 3KW for 5 hours overnight, with the EV charger set to charge the car at the same time, this prevents the EV drawing from the battery.
But yeah, it would be nice to know why the EV system changes the charging and discharging rates.
Thanks again,
Tony
