GIV-PV-6.0-G3 comms board dead - WiFi not broadcasting, ethernet not working after DIP switch change

System: GIV-PV-6.0-G3 (x2), GIV-AIO with 4 batteries, Giv-Gateway, GIV-EV-7.2. Installed March 2025.
Problem: One of my two PV inverters (serial PE2441G069, dongle WP2441G069, firmware 1201) has stopped broadcasting its WiFi hotspot. It does not appear on my network at all. The other inverter, AIO, Gateway and EV charger are all online and working normally.
What I have tried:
• Multiple full power cycles (both AC and DC isolators off, waited for all lights to go out completely)
• Full reboot of my mesh network (TP-Link Deco X20)
• Firmware update via GE portal - gets to 45% “Updating WiFi Module ARM” then stalls and fails every time
• Opened the front panel and connected an ethernet cable to the LAN port
• Changed DIP switch 1 from ON to OFF (1111 to 0111) as per the community guide for ethernet mode
• Two different ethernet cables, both confirmed working
• Two full power cycles with DIP switch in ethernet mode

Result: No link light appears on the RJ45 LAN port at all. No wired device appears on the network. The inverter generates fine electrically and the GE portal can see the dongle and its firmware version, but the comms board appears completely dead for both WiFi and ethernet.

Background: This inverter already has an open warranty case for 4/5 months (fat lot of good that will do me) for significant external corrosion. I suspect moisture ingress has damaged the comms board internally- as the warranty is related to severe corrosion of the external materials- and the other inverted is warrantied because when it trains it trips the circuit. Awful quality.

Questions:
• anything else I can do?
• Is there a USB configuration route that might work (I can see a USB port on the board)?

@michael.g2.smith of course you’re aware of this system and the long standing warranty claims.

The person you are tagging I believe was recently let go from GivEnergy due to the company being in administration.

Your best bet might be contacting your installer if they’re still in business - as they’re the ones you presumably bought the system from.

My installers well aware, have been chasing GE (and Michael) for months.

Looking for some other solutions anyone else may have given the absolute clusterfuck this company has left behind.

I had a very similar problem with my new AIO stopped communicating (both WiFi & ethernet) after a firmware update bricked the communication device. Installer has been out twice 3 hours each. Final solution, he installed a 2nd gen Battery dongle, plugged it in on on the side, re-introduced it to my WiFi network and it worked.. It is a work-around, but it has me back in business! If you can get your hands on a GivEnergy external dongle, give it a try.

Thank you! I’ll suggest it.
