Givenergy EV Charger - Connection Issues

I recently changed wifi details and had an issue re-connecting my EV Charger as the label on the side of the charger was faded.

After trying a few times, I removed the charger from my app to try starting from initial setup again but now I can’t get it back on at all.

Try this.

A strong Wifi signal is required at the site of the EV charger at all times during installation and also to the phone doing the installation.

  1. Turn the EV charger mains supply off and then on again. (Listen for the beep)
  2. Launch the Givenergy App that has already got a valid SSO login created and works correctly
  3. From the App menu select EV Charger
  4. Select Start Setup
  5. Scan the QR Code Above
  6. Turn Off DATA on the mobile phone being used for the install
  7. Enter the home SSID for a 2.4ghz WiFi network that is strongest at the EV charger
  8. Enter the password to gain access to the Wifi connection then click connect
  9. Choose EVC installed with internet connectivity and mains supply only (Givenergy’s current recommendation)
  10. Enter The Max size of the fuse in the Meter Cupboard usually either 80amp or 100amps Check first.
  11. Complete the install it can take a few minutes of the app with a rotating symbol be patient.
  12. A notification message will appear on the GE App phone and the portal saying the EV charger is installed.

Hi, I’m in a similar situation. My home wifi has changed some I’m tryingto update the EV charger; the QR code on the charger has worn away so I’m trying to setup manually but so far none of the passwords I’ve tried are workingand I’m unable to connect to the EV Hotspot.

My EV charger details are:

S/N on unit: CI2405G005
Serial Number from app: 11288853546701
Network: EVSE-53546701

Passwords I’ve tried are:
12345678
45350425
53546701
87654321
012345678

If anyone is able to confirm exactly which Serial number / network / password I should use, that would be much appreciated. Is there a way to factory reset the unit so that the default password (12345678) can work?
