Hello
My first post here. I have a GivEnergy 3.6kW hybrid inverter linked to 7 solar panels. I monitor my solar generation via the givenergy.cloud web resource and also via the GivTCP 3.1.6 add-on in Home Assistant. These two give different estimates of generation.
For example, yesterday gave me these estimates:
givenergy.cloud - 11kWh
GivTCP 3.1.6 add-on in Home Assistant - 13 kWh
These differences are consistent. This month’s estimates up to June 27 are 251kWh from the dashboard and 285kWh from the GivTCP add-on.
I think all systems have their own EM115 meter (or similar) and I understood the readings came from this. No tolerance on EM115 data sheet but “highly accurate” so that’s OK then (not). You could try and read the EM meter and compare with both your other readings and the smart meter - tedious though.
Thanks for the reply. Both readings come from the same e115 because both are from my GivEnergy hybrid converter. The lower one is from the GivEnergy cloud app, and the higher one is from the givTCP 3.1.6 add on in home assistant. GivTCP reads from the inverter data as far as I understand it. What I don’t understand is why the two are different and which, if any, might be correct. I am puzzled!
On the GivEnergy Portal Click on My Inverter and then Meter Data ( far right heading). Use the calendar to get the readings for different days. If you want to find the monthly generation you will have to take the total from each month and do some basic maths. I find that the Energy Graphs understate was has been generated just like the app. I use HA with GivTCP and it agrees with the Meter Data on the portal.
