Our GIV-HY5.0 seems to refuse charging from the solar.
Timed charge works successfully from the grid overnight.
Timed export works successfully during daylight hours too.
But how do we set it to charge the battery during the day time?

ECO mode turned on?
as @darknite1 says, check Eco mode is turned on
also check charge rate and charge power percent are set to the maximum.
If unsure of any of the settings, do a ‘reset to defaults’ - all of these options are in the givenergy portal
What tariff are you on , it’s not intelligent Flux by any chance is it ?
If on Flux will this cause the problem?
No, ordinary Flux is a tariff you control the charge and discharge yourself, but Intelligent Octopus Flux you handover control of the battery to Octopus
