In ECO mode, but the battery sits at 100% while I draw from grid

I’ve tried everything I can think of. Sorf reset of the inverter. Hard reset of the inverter. Updated firmware. Tried every setting imaginable, and the battery has sat at 100% for the last week even though it’s in eco mode, just using all my energy from solar and the grid.

I know it’s a settings issue as I can force a discharge and it’ll force use back to the house with excess to the grid.

Tried the support route and waiting a call back, but based on comments I’m not holding my breath.

Any idea? Would Predbat be worth a try as I was considering it anyway?

Cheers,

Kosh

predbat can definitely control your inverter for you, but I wouldn’t advise it if your inverter isn’t behaving itself.

In the givenergy portal, have a look at the notifications tab, do you see any errors?
Are the lights on as normal on the inverter and the battery, showing the battery is full and the inverter is talking to the battery?

Have you tried physically shutting everything down, powering off the battery and the inverter then powering back up to force the inverter to re-talk to the battery.

Can you post a screenshot of your settings in the portal? The most important things to check are that Eco mode is on, discharge rate is set to max, battery pause mode isn’t set, and reserve is set to 4%

What tariff are you on? Is it an intelligent tariff taking control. Have you ever been on an intelligent tariff that somehow still has control. Have you filled in anything on the GivEnergy portal SmartTariff card that may still have control

What is your battery reserve set to? Is it 100%

Sorry for the dealy. Busy weekend. I did a battery recalibrate and it now discharges. No other settings changed.

But has now stopped charging from solar. Feels I cannot win. At least it’s AC charging in the cheap overnight window.

Check Eco mode is turned on, that battery pause is not set.

For each, check the values in the portal, click the little wheel next to each to download the value from the inverter, and try changing the setting to off then on to force the inverter to have the right settings

And do share a screenshot of your settings we might spot something wrong

Currently exporting generation even though battery is at 75%:

Log where I turned Eco on and off earlier.

TY for your help.

You have Enable DC Discharge = On, combined with Discharge 1 Start/Stop Times = 0000 to 2359.

On mine the Enable DC Discharge = Off, which then ignores the Start/Stop Times, and just operates in ECO Mode outside the AC Charge times.

Thanks. Have changed it and hopefully some sunshine tomorrow to test it out.

Cheers.

you also don’t need ‘enable AC charge limit’ turning on, although as the limit is 100% that won’t cause a problem, but you can turn it off

if your battery is in an area where it can get too cold then worth turning winter battery conditioning on

It seems to be working. Many thanks all. You are superstars.
