Not sure if I’m in the right place
I am trying to re install my dongle after I changed internet provider I’ve followed all the videos. My WiFi is permanently set to 2.4 GHS. And I have a perfect signal as I have moved my router next to the inverter.and I still cannot see my inverter on the list of available networks
Make sure your 5GHz wifi is turned off and that advanced features such as beam forming, fast roaming, etc are also turned off.
The simplest way to get your inverter to connect following a change in broadband provider is to set the SSID and password the same as your old router.
Have you managed to fix this?
I think I may have a similar problem.
I have no visible dongle network.
Dongle light is flashing but no WO1234567 netowrk to connect to.
Givenergy just keep sending me wifi update instructions which is not the issue. My original installer has been out to have a look and they didnt know what to do either.
Any further thoughts?
Thanks.
In the dongle setup screen you can set it to hide the SSID so it doesn’t broadcast it.
You can however connect to the dongle’s wifi hotspot, just put the SSID and password in manually
Worst case you can reset the dongle to factory settings and set it back up to connect to your home wifi
Thanks @geoffrey
I fed this back to my installer…
But how do you connect to wifi hotspot if there doesnt appear to be one?
on an iphone / ipad go to wifi, under the list of networks click Other then manually type the SSID (which will be all upper case, eg WO2236G123) and the password
similar on Android I’m sure
the dongle serial number is printed on it, is available from the givenergy portal
Yes I tried that too.
Added the WO12345678
Is the password the same as my home broadband password?
If I put that in and press save it just disappears.
Any other ideas?
the password will be whatever it has been set to on the dongle
it could be your original home broadband password, or it could be the inverter serial number, or it could be anything else that the installer chose!
usually its one or the other though
if you have the password correct your phone will connect to it. If wrong I’d thought you’d get an error message that “can’t connect”
worst case you will need to reset the dongle, instructions in the wifi setup guide on the givenergy knowledge base
