Inverter settings don't stick!

I have set my battery to charge up between 2-5am using Inverter Settings>Timed Charge. However, despite hitting ‘Save Changes’ the settings never seem to be there when I go back into the app? Also the Eco>Enabled option never seems to save either?
Has anyone else had this?

is anything else controlling your inverter? are you on octopus intelligent flux?

No, not any more. I tried flux for a month but my bill was enormous so switched away.

My system is on our garage and the WiFi is patchy. I was wondering if both the high flux bill and potentially the settings not sticking might be due to that? Is that plausible?

Flux an Octopus Intelligent Flux are different tariffs, but similar names so easy to get them confused.

On OIF Octopus controls your battery and inverter, you get the same rate for import as you do for export so you can consider the grid as a giant virtual battery. Its a ‘fire and forget’ tariff as you don’t need to (indeed can’t) control your battery/inverter, but really to get benefit of it you need to be generating lots of solar electricity so its best suited to the summer.
If you were on OIF then its possible that even though you’ve changed tariff, Octopus is still controlling your inverter. In the GivEnergy portal go into account settings / manage account security / manage API tokens and see if there are any security tokens there (from Octopus). If so, delete them and this will kill any Octopus or other 3rd party remote control.

Flux is a different tariff, you have 3 rates a day, offpeak, day and peak, and you control charging your battery in the overnight offpeak, then using that battery during the day and peak. The peak rate is highest so you want to ensure you run off the battery during that 4-7pm period.

You mentioned that wifi in your garage where the inverter is is poor, this could be the cause of your problem as the givenergy portal needs to send commands such as Eco mode to the inverter. If the command can’t get through, the command will revert to what it was before.
Several options to improve your wifi, either get a Mesh wifi or a Wifi extender. If you have one of the newer inverters you can connect it by physical ethernet cable as well
