Battery a fair warranty replacement for 2x Giv_Batt 5.2s?
Hi everyone,
My original GivEnergy battery setup is beyond repair, and my warranty provider (Think Green Partners) has proposed a replacement. Before agreeing to the installation, I would like an informed view on whether their proposed alternative is a like-for-like equivalent.
Current Setup:
- Inverter: GivEnergy Hybrid Gen3 3.6kW
- Storage: 2× Giv_Batt 5.2kWh ( total 10.4kWh capacity)
Proposed Replacement:
- Luxpower AC Charger
- 1× Hanchu 9.4kWh Battery
My Concerns:
- Capacity Loss: The replacement reduces overall storage from 10.4kWh down to 9.4kWh.
- System Architecture: Adding a separate AC charger bypasses my current Hybrid Gen3 battery capabilities and adds a second hardware unit to my wall.
- Integration: Will this split setup impact monitoring, smart tariff integration (e.g., Octopus), or automated charge/discharge schedules?
If anyone has experience with Hanchu/Lux equipment or warranty replacement negotiations, I’d really appreciate your feedback before committing to this install. Thanks!
