Hi, has anyone any experience setting up an AC3 with a lead acid battery? No option for lead acid in the options list, going to try no battery and see if that then opens up option for a dumb lead acid.
Happen to have large lead acids and AC3 spare purely for standby eps when power cut on remote water supply so not a normal configuration and be a waste of a good lifepo4 battery.
Will be having another try at setup tonight but thought I’d throw this out in case anyone else ever managed to configure for dumb lead acid. Says it can on the label!
Got nowhere, guessing it was an early feature and in early documentation but probably never used or had bugs but not worth them fixing so option got deleted from later firmware updates. I haven’t tried getting support as I haven’t got time and expect it’s such a non standard config I’d not get far given the comments about slow response on standard setups. Would have been sweet if it had worked.
Hi, i have an installers account but early on in the commissioning you have to specify the battery and there is no option for lead acid, only GE batteries, I did try selecting one to see if it would work but as you’d expect it says there’s an error on the check as there’s no BMS.
If I do a chatgpt search it says yes can do on the first level, if I do the deeper dive option it says no way, only GE batteries.
The label on side of inverter says lead acid and lifepo4.
Do you know of a work around - I haven’t looked or tried for archived firmware downgrade.
