an 80A fuse is now the standard main house fuse that will be installed (used to be 100A), and as explained by National Grid, this can take 100A for four hours, so you may not need to upgrade to 3 phase even if you regularly exceed the house fuse rating
Thank you for the information. We have a few more buildings on our land that are being refurbished, so the 3 phase is to cover the current high loads and to future proof. Our feed is also 100m from the road and even with a doubled up grid connection cable, it’s not to current specification. The DNO is laying a new connection to the house and hardening the connection between the transformer and the road. A hotel near us is also installing EV chargers so the work is all being bundled as a general grid hardening exercise. For a small village, we are getting some great service. Even 1Gbps Symmetric FTTP is coming in the next months!

I have just been quoted £5,300 for an additional AIO; I am tempted as our current AIO is usually empty by early afternoon in winter due to our heat pump. An extra 13.5 kWh should get us through the day until 23:30.
I should have no issues cycling the battery to 4% to 100% all year; I export in summer down low enough (~10%) that the house use takes it to single digits by the time the cheap rate comes around again.
Do we happen to know if GE have done any updates to gateway or AIO firmware since this thread was posted that may fix the current limit freeze or charge rate issues?
I use HomeAssistant to charge the battery at a very low rate during IOG charging periods, and have to do some charge rate wizardry to get it working how I want - and not take the proverbial with Octopus.
Interesting - I’m on FW D0.613-A0.613 so 5 versions behind you, dongle FW I’m on 902 (yes 902 - no idea why the huge difference!) and my gateway is on A0.008 so again 5 versions behind you.
I had a look at the installer page but can’t see a version history. Anyone know what has changed?
