New battery

Hi
I would like to install a 2nd battery to my system,

GivEnergy 5.12kWh Battery Gen 3,

Is it just a question of plug & play has anyone any experience of doing this?

Thanks

Need a certified installer to do this for you as the battery has to be added to your account and calibrated with your current kit. Sadly not plug n play and consumer installable.

Ok looking for a qoute, for a qualified installer to just install a Gen 3 battery to existing system!

Northeast UK

Have a read of a few more forums, I have heard that the firmware differences can cause a few issues !

I was going to do this myself, but my install warned me off it for now ( will be looking again in March or so )

Hi
What sort of prices did you get?

Battery only ?

Battery & installation?

Hi

I got qoutes of Battery + cable ÂŁ1480

& battery + cable + installed ÂŁ2600

ÂŁ1200 for the install which is only a few hours work, drill holes, mount the battery on the wall, set the dip switches, plug it in, commission it

However, for warranty the install has to be done and commissioned with a trained givenergy engineer

And if you are using a different engineer from whoever installed the kit in the first place then they have to take over responsibility for the entire installation. Givenergy operate on “whoever last touched it”, so from an installer perspective they are taking on the risk of some one else’s prior work

It’s still a lot of money either way. Got to work out whether that’s value for money or not. Would take a while to recoup it from electricity price savings

Ouch. The install fee when I added a 3rd AC3 and 9.5 this Feb was around ÂŁ400. 2 person crew about 2 hours work. Mount to the wall and run a cable, do the firmware, start commission and they leave.
