Octopus Cosy and its potential effect on Givenergy Battery

If one were to utilise the 3 cheap periods available in the Cosy tariff to charge the battery and then run it down in between - thereby reducing/eliminating grid usage, would this have any significant or long lasting damage on battery life?

If they are designed for X cycles, using 3 per day would suggest as much?

So if you have a larger batteries then unlimited cycles are included and a suggested 70% remaining battery cap after 12 years. But yes increased cycles will slowly reduce battery cap. However my oldest 8.2kw battery is showing 100% available cap after nearly 1100 cycles so not an exact science. PLUS I assume you are referring to winter use, in the Summer the battery use is less (depending on usage/exporting)

Thanks darknite1, Is it possible to determine the available cap with provided software, apps or is additional monitoring such as Home Energy Monitor (RPi etc.) needed?

Givtcp can provide the data. I don’trun it all the time just spin up a VM on my main computer when I want some live data. Great guide to setting it up on YouTube. Speak to the geek I believe
