Professional inspection of solar panels and batteries. Have you had one?

So just reading yet another article about house fires started by solar panels - and I’m wondering how often - if at all - people here get their solar and battery systems professionally checked?

The article can be seen at https://archive.is/8Btyl

My solar panels were removed and reinstalled 2 years ago due to an electrical fault - but the batteries were not inspected. I also have bird protection round the solar panels. What does concern me is the gas pipe in the loft! I’m wondering if I should go for a full inspection yet. The batteries are not in the loft but are outside.

I have also posted this on the Discord group but not sure that everyone here has gone over there hence this post.

Just wondering about other peoples views on this - is it just scaremongering or do we have something to consider quite seriously?

I asked my installer about checks and this is their response.

“We wouldn’t usually recommend checking the system after only two years. MCS guidance suggests a check at around 15 years. Unless you have any specific concerns.”
