Removing Battery

Hi,

I have the following setup:-

  • 1 x GIV-HY5.0 Hybrid Inverter
  • 1 x Giv-Bat5.2 Gen-1 Battery
  • 14 x HiE-S415VG 415 Watt Panels (Hyundai Energy Solutions Co., Ltd.)

If I need to remove the battery from this setup (obviously following correct shut down procedure first) can anyone comment on whether the inverter will power back up and work correctly with the battery disconnected (so no power cables or comms cable to the battery).

For example, would the inverter need to be recommissioned?

Any thoughts / advice gratefully received.

Thanks
Steve

it should be fineā€¦ I had issues during my install and the batteries where removed multiple times without it effecting the inverter itself.

Question is though why would you need to remove the battery ( I had mine moved from the inside to the outside which is why the disconnect was only temporary - and I increased from 1 to 2 batteries )

Hi

Thanks for response!

Broader situation is that I have recently found out my installer did not install a DC-MCB between battery and inverter.
This is not per GivEnergy install requirements so needs to be fixed
In the meantime I wanted to understand if the community saw any potential issues running the inverter with battery disconnected

Thanks
Steve
