Smart Scheduler newbie

Hi all- I am new to all this having moved into a house with solar panels plus GivEnegy battery & inverter already installed. We have also recently just installed an air source heat pump.
I have just started using the Smart Scheduler in the GivEnergy mobile app to schedule the battery to charge during our cheap periods. We are on the Octopus Cosy tariff which has 3 cheap periods per day. The Scheduler appears to have picked up the 3 time periods successfully (via the API key) but the scheduling hasn’t got off to a good start. It missed charging sufficiently on one of the cheap rates which led to it importing from the grid at a peak time. It has only been operating for about 36 hours so far. Will it learn and improve ? If so, how long will this take ?
Does it take account of the weather forecast for the solar generation and the heat pump consumption?
Also, if it continues to get it wrong and I have to intervene to manually charge the battery to prevent paying peak rates (which I think involves switching off Smart Scheduler), will it mess it up if I try and return to it ?
I really need to make Smart Scheduler work because I think it is the only way I can schedule 3 cheap periods per day. The manual method only allows me to schedule 1 cheap period a day (unless anyone knows a workaround for this).
All help gratefully received.

Unfortunately, there’s plenty of evidence to suggest that GE Smart Scheduler is unreliable and can’t be trusted. And it definitely doesn’t learn.
I would suggest looking at WonderWatt which allows up to 20 charge/discharge slots. I’ve been using it for a couple of years and it is 100% reliable and worth the £5 or so a month that it costs.

You could try the Axle offering from Givenergy. This will maintain premium access and Axle have a full managed function which MAY give you what you want. Once set up with tariffs, kit etc it is supposed to learn your usage requirements. Not tried it yet as we have been running on event only, but will be giving it a go in the near function.

Thanks for the advice

Thanks for the advice. Actually GE smart scheduler does seem to be improving at the moment. It DOES appear to be adjusting to our consumption pattern but I’m also going to look at Wonderwatt and Axle.
