Anyone else having problems with Solcast today?
When i went to view it, it reverted to wanting my resource id and API key. I entered them both but clicking the commit button does nothing. I’ve tried several times over the last 12 hours!

solcast was unavailable yesterday due to a 429 storm which occurs from time to time when a hobbyist account makes excessive API calls and solcast block all hobbyist users
its working again now
Thanks, that was encouraging, but I’ve been trying for the last hour and still it’s not reacting to me submitting my resource ID and (refreshed) API key.
Update:- Yet another hour hour later and it’s suddenly working again. Thanks.
Your description of what your problem is and what you are doing is very thin on details @Wingnut1000
What is IT?
Again, what is IT?
Reading between the lines I think you are saying that the Solcast card on the GivEnergy Portal was not working so you went into Solcast, created a new resource id and API key, and then tried to enter those which were rejected in the givenery portal.
If a 429 storm is occurring then you won’t be able to get anything working with the Solcast card in the givenergy portal. Creating a new resource and API key will not help at all.
Furthermore you have a limit of 10 API calls you can make with your API key each day. Entering a new API key uses up one of those calls. Every time you look at the forecast in the portal, the portal retrieves the latest forecast from Solcast, and uses up an API call.
If you have two sites in solcast (for two roof orientations) then each request uses 2 API calls so you only have 5 a day.
Your API quota resets at midnight GMT.
But please when asking a question give decent details of what you are trying to do and what doesn’t work. Otherwise very hard to help
Yes, OK. I’ll try and do better next time. It was only the API I renewed, not the single resource ID. I had to look up what a 429 storm was. It would be nice if pressing the submit button in such circumstances actually returned a message of some kind, but perhaps that’s the problem with 429s.
Thanks.
Solcast don’t really advertise/explain about the 429 response, knowledge of what it is and when it occurs has been built up by the community after experiencing it!
There is mention of it in the Home Assistant Solcast integration GitHub - BJReplay/ha-solcast-solar: Solcast Integration for Home Assistant · GitHub
I. know you are not using the integration but its useful background, and explaining concepts like how to setup your solcast account, etc.
