System has stopped reporting but restart failed to correct

The web app has stopped reporting in an odd way. The current solar generation value changes but all the other values have been the same for the past 36 hours. I powered everything down and up again but the web app is still doing this. Any ideas?

The app and portal have migrated to SSO sign on this week. You will need to logout on the app, clear cache and old data and relogin again with SSO. It may be showing you stale data

I have been using SSO for a while. Have checked on the app and can see that one string inverter is connected but the other one that also runs the battery is not available on the web app. Have restarted again this morning but same situation persists, only one inverter is showing, no battery information. It has been like this for 2 days. This accords with what the app is showing: current solar generation from one inverter but nothing nor battery showing on the other one. I do not have a dongle to restart, it all seems to be integral. What else might need checking?

Can you describe exactly what kit you have and how it is connected, its hard to tell from the information you have given

Check that any breakers are on
What lights are on the inverter
What notification events are shown in the portal

I have GIV PV 3.6 G3 which is reporting OK, GIV HY 8.0 G3 HV which is not showing up anymore on the givenergy app and does not show on my router, and GIV BAT 3.4 HV x3 stack that is also not showing up anymore either. The lights on the inverters are showing usual type flows. The battery light is now showing fully charged after a sunny afternoon and my meter is showing 23kwh exported today

On the My Inverters section of the oortal the HY 8.0 G3 HV status says Lost.

I have tried to restart the inverter but it reports ā€˜offline’

I have found the wifi of the PV 3.6 G3 and accessed it and restarted it but I cannot see one for the HY 8.0 G3 HV

thanks for the extra information, it sounds like your Giv HY 8 has lost connection to your wifi. Thats why no data is appearing from it, it shows as status Lost, and you can’t restart it from the portal.

First thing I would try doing is to physically power down and power up the inverter. This should encourage it to try to reconnect to your wifi.

Your installer should have left you instructions for how to do this, but if not, search for the Givenergy installers guide and follow the instructions there

I have tried the powering down then back on again. And I have tried but cannot find the inverter’s wifi. I found the other one and restarted that but cannot see the wifi address of the hybrid. There are no instructions on where to go from here.

I have now tried a power down and on again for the 4th time and this time the battery has not come back on. It had 4 bars when I turned it off and now there is nothing showing. The 3.6 inverter is showing a flashing green light now as well. I cannot connect to its wifi either now. Getting concerned that something worse is now happening

Now I have learned the lesson to fully read the manual and understand what I am trying to do. Things settled down overnight and my battery is now showing 4 bars again. My inverters were all set up on LAN which I had forgotten. Oddly, despite the DIP switches being set to LAN one of them was visible via wifi. Anyway, I will persevere with finding the connection via LAN. Hopefully at some point after various reboots and checking connections something will do the trick, as randomly as whatever led to it in the first place. Further steps I have taken have been to take a different LAN cable straight from the port to the LAN switch that serves the inverters. No change. Switched over the two inverters to different RG45 sockets. No change. Green light still flashing next to the dongle button. Long pressed the reset button. Still no change. Everything working properly on the other inverter. I even updated its dongle and firmware with no issues.

I have had a similar problem now on and off for months. I finally got the communication working (installer had a spare external dongle, used for prev. ver of battery) and then we were able to get the system talking to my WiFi network. Confirmed everything was working as programmed from months ago - yea! Then we had a power outage, and the AIO battery tripped off line and the communication quit. I got the battery back up, but not connected to WiFi. All the lights are green and it would seem that the Gateway & AIO are performing as they should - just can’ ā€œseeā€ what is happening with the app. Installer is coming soon to re-connect the dongle (which has a blinking light, not connected).

If you use Facebook I suggest that you try the GivEnergy Owners group Redirecting... some of the old support staff help out with problems on occassions.
