Is there a good reason why you have bits of kit on different GivEnergy accounts?
I would suggest you ask GivEnergy to merge them onto one account for you so you can see everything in one place.
I believe there used to be limitations of only having 1 inverter on an account so the way round this was to have multiple accounts, but I have both of my hybrid inverters on the same account and it all works fine with the givenergy app and portal.
BTW you have to be on the same wifi network as the inverters to be able to swap to home mode. I used to have my inverters on a powerline network extended from my home wifi, and could never get home mode to work until I swapped to the powerline wifi (even though they were bridged together).
Moving everything to mesh solved this for me
Hi Geoffrey,
I don’t think the app can show separate inverters and just gives a total. It would be helpful to have the two inverters on my main account but at the moment on the cloud I leave it with the new account so I can see the generation of each array. Now that the home button is working fine I get the real time data I was looking for. I will give it some more time before I ask GE to merge the accounts and I wonder why it was necessary in the first place as the installer was helped through the process while the GE engineer was on the line.
All I need now is for my export MPAN to come through so that I get paid for my excess Solar. The 13.5kW battery fills quickly in the sunny weather we are having
you are correct, on the app you just see a total solar generation, its not broken own by inverter. You can control each inverter individually which is good, but all the data is aggregated together - which causes a different set of problems for me as the house load figures are all over the place, often ending up with negative consumption or generation numbers!
You probably won’t have these issues if you just are using the hybrid inverters as string inverters and doing all the charging in the AIO.
This messed up data is part of why I started on the home assistant route so I could see what my individual arrays were doing and get to a proper house load figure. I also wanted to incorporate my older FIT array generation in.
Now I rarely look at the app, and only occasionally use the portal
The export MPAN can take a few weeks to come through, mine got stuck at the DNO for weeks and it was only after I spoke directly to the DNO who told me the MPAN, that then the whole thing woke up again. Just keep on the case, chasing Octopus and if need be reach out to the DNO although the DNO’s are often submerged in the volume of applications they get
