Unable to connect to WiFi dongle

Hi,

I have changed my broadband and I needed to change WiFi connection to Givenergy battery. Based on the guide, I connected my phone to dongle and updated WiFi settings. After that the dongle was rebooted as per the guide.

Now I am not able to connect to the dongle and the updated WiFi settings seems to be not working.

I cannot see any data on my Givenergy app now.

I try to connect to dongle, it connects very briefly (few seconds) and it disconnects immediately. I am now unable to do anything.

Please help.

In the past you best option is to just changes the Your New Broadband router to have the same SSID and Password as your old router.

99.5 of routers allow you to do this ( the admin / logon details are normally on the bottom of the router or pull out tab within the router )

Lots of people seem to have this issue.

as suggested, set your wifi router to the same password and SSID as you used to have

If you are seeing your dongle connect and then immediately disconnect, the fix is to turn off the 5GHz wifi network and let the dongle connect on 2.4. The GivEnergy dongles only connect on 2.4 but most wifi routers will try to push devices that connect on 2.4 over to the 5GHz network as this is less contended.
The GivEnergy device can’t use that network so the connection fails.

Once the inverter has connected on 2.4 you can then turn the 5 network back on and it should be OK.

Look on Youtube for videos from givenergy about setting your wifi details

If you have changed you new router to just wpa3 it will not work either.

Thank you all.

I tried all these methods and still no success connecting to Wifi Dongle.

Is there a way I can speak to Givenergy support team? I have called their number 5 times so far and it never connects to team. I am in the queue for over 30 minutes and the call drops after that.

It is frustrating. Please help

We’re fellow givenergy customers as well, all we can do is pass on our advice of what we’ve found works.

Can only suggest persevering with givenergy support, I know they are very busy.

Or could you call your installer and get him to come back and set it up for you?
