Abit of a strange one. We have a AIO which has been working fine with the GE app, however we had the power off for 5 hours yesterday and when it came back on, the app isn’t showing any values in away or home mode.
I have used IP scanner software to find the IP of the AIO and Gateway, added them manually into the local monitoring and the app is still unable to find the inverter. Scanning automatically doesn’t work either.
I can however browse to the IP address of each WIFI dongles and check the settings from a device on the same network (my home network) which would suggest that they are online (confirmed by the IP scanning software also).
I have applied the network settings and restart both dongles via the 10.10.110.254 method just to double check as well.
I’ve got the same problem with my hybrid inverter which is hardwired to my router and all has worked fine for about a year, but for 3 weeks it has not been able to find the inverter unless i give it the full IP address in the app’s settings. However this is not very satisfactory because my eero network occasionally changes the ip addresses.
Tom from GE support has been trying to solve it for 2 or 3 weeks, but he initially thought it was because i was not logging in using the new SSO system. But having solved that, the problem persisted. My firmware was updated, but i think this was an attempt to solve another known problem of inaccurate calculation of battery %, which was decreasing without any change in the battery power. The jury is still out on whether that has been solved.
He has said he has solved the problem 2 or 3 times, but it has persisted and i haven’t yet received an explanation of what he has done or why he thinks he has solved it.
I’m hoping that realising that there are other people having the same problem with different hardware and setup will help in finding a solution. So please let us know if you also have the same problem.
Hi - thanks, can confim there is noyhing wrong wuth the router or anything else connected via wifi (2.4ghz/5ghz) or wired in the house. The solax inverter we have for the solar array is fine (connected to the same wifi ap on the, same neteork next to the ge kit).
Rebooted the aio etc and initally all came back on fine, the app found the inverter and all fine. However 8:30am yesterday the ge kit decided to stop talking to the ge cloud. Bsck to the Same suitation now..
Intersting to know Micha. We have a vodafone router which seems to keep the ge ip addresses constant. However we had the ge aio show as ‘lost’ in the portal from 830am yesterday again and unable to find the inverter on the app. Despite i can connect to the wifi module from a,device on the same network or via connecting to the module via connecting to the modules private wudi network.
Just to add that, at the same time as my system was not able to find my inverter, so Octopus lost control of my battery on my OIF tariff. Weirdly though, they seemed to regain control at about the same time that i regained control by putting its full IP address in my app settings.
