Hi I am new to forum but had my solar setup since 2022.
Logged into GivEnergy.cloud and noticed there was an update so though might as well do it, not done it before.
System updated and my battery dropped to 4% out of nowhere. Looking at the app you can see the charge drop from around 80% to 4%.
Just read about various users having issues, have I made a mistake updating as system has been faultless. What do I do to get battery calibrated again as I don’t want it to overcharge as it is 80% already despite showing 4%
Hi Sohail
Others on here are more knowledgeable than me, but don’t worry as it’s not possible to overcharge the battery as the BMS (Battery Management System) will prevent that. Just let it charge as required for your needs.
The SOC drop is possibly due the battery being at an incorrect level which I believe 3017 is better at correcting.
If you feel a calibration is necessary, contact GE Support.
Apologies for brevity, must dash

An update from before 3012 the SOC will drop to 0% the battery isnt flat. It will re calculate the correct SOC to be at over the following day. Which from your data the charge did just that.
The SOC rose much faster than normal as it re worked the SOC reading.
Thanks for the info
The battery is back showing charge so all good and I panicked for no reason

HI just did the same upgrade, now I have a 100% charged battery, thats done the recycle thing, yet now Im pulling all power from the grid. Anyone else experienced
this ? Any ideas ?
Your ECO mode was Off
Ive turned it back on
Ak ok thankyou.
Hi chaps, we are new to the solar thing having had 20x 430w panels, a 5kw inverter and 9.5kw battery installed in July. Everything is brilliant up until about 3 weeks ago when the software update was available. I downloaded it and it did its thing only to find strange things happening afterwards. Example, with the system set in Eco mode it would still draw from the grid when our battery is above 70% or more.
Today (please see the screenshot), the battery stands at 63% and while it is producing 4.94kw off the panels it is sending most of it to the grid and has tended to only ‘drip feed’ the battery over the course of the day.
I contacted Givenergy and they were meant to come out for a site visit on Friday but they never showed up, and today they are not answering the phone!!!
They have admitted in an email that they are aware of the problems but this is frustrating unless any of you guys can offer any advice.
As I say, it is in Eco mode right now but alas this problem occurs every day since the update.
Thanks in advance,
Graham
HI again, I still dont think the system is working correctly. Im pulling 6kw from the grid after the battery decided to fully charge in the daytime and not on the cheap overnight tariff. Also the battery is not discharging ! Would appreciate you taking another look.
Since the upgrade it just hasn’t been performing right, Ive never used so much grid power.
Thankyou.
Ac charge you set to 1230-0530.
Not 0030-0530
Set 3rd Oct by yourself via Inverter card.
Yes, I’ve just seen that and corrected. Thanks for spotting it.
