Have an issue on the Inverter where it shows a Voltage on the String but there is no current flow. Anybody ever see anything like this before???
Have you just tried a “Reset” - I saw it once when mine was first commissioned what they were testing the Isolation switches , it seemed to hang, and a reboot of the inverter fixed it.
Thanks for the Reply.
I tried a reset but that did nothing. The issue has actually happened since the power went off and came back on. To me it look like something is holding it out or maybe a bug in the software. If the Voltage is there I would assume the connection between the Panel and the inverter is ok.
What is your Grid Voltage reporting after the power fail then restore?
If over 253 V then the inverter will not connect to the grid, and potentially not allow the PV strings to start. The grid fail and restore may have tripped an MCB that feeds the EM115 grid meter that is connected to the GE inverter. Is this powered and providing sensible readings on its display?
Though if you have a hybrid inverter I would have thought it would allow solar charging of your battery even with the grid voltage not correct.
Think you might be on to something. Checked the Logs but the voltage was never over 253V however what I’ve been doing is restarting or
powering On/Off the Inverter. Instead of doing that I tried flipping the MCB on/off and would you believe it, it has started working.
However the battery is now showing zero and won’t charge. Tried a Battery calibration/timed charged but no joy!!
Is the battery actually active with LEDs lit on the front?
The battery to inverter link consists of power via a 100A MCB and also comms.
Depending on the generation version of battery, the MCB will be on the side of the battery or in a separate box provided by the installer. The comms can be a separate cable plugged in the bottom of the inverter (that can come loose) or the newer models have a combined power and comms cable with orange connectors.
If all healthy, then the battery has a black button on the RHS that requires a short press to start the battery. A long press of around 5 seconds is used for a controlled shutdown of the battery.
